By now it is known for a fact that cancer is one of the most deadly diseases and the more our society is changing, the more common this condition seems to have become.
While our bodies have their own ways of signaling us when something is wrong or a change is taking place, most of the time we tend to ignore and brush off these warnings until a series threat arises from within.
That is why, in this article, we are going to show you the 15 most common cancer symptoms women experience but often ignore!
- Breast Changes
While most breast lumps don’t indicate cancer, it is important that your doctor checks them. Always let your doctor know of any changes such as puckering skin, skin dimpling, or inward nipples, nipple discharge or redness and scaling of the nipple.
According to scientific studies, women are natural bloaters, however, if this bloating is accompanied by bleeding or weight loss, immediately contact a doctor, as this can often be a sign of ovarian cancer.
- Between Period Bleeding
It is plain and simple – if you are bleeding between your periods, it is highly important to contact a doctor immediately. Even if this isn’t a sign of any cancer or tumor, it might be a sign of other health condition.
- Skin Changes
Any change of a mole, whether it is its size, shape or color, is another common sign of skin cancer, which is why you need to contact your doctor for a thorough exam if you notice any of these.
- Blood in Urine or Stool
This one speaks for itself. If you are bleeding from somewhere you shouldn’t, you need to be alarmed, and if the bleeding lasts for more than 2 days, you need to contact a doctor.
- Lymph Node Changes
The lymph nodes are bean-sized and shaped glands around our body, and usually undergo a change in the case of an infection, or leukemia and lymphoma, which cause them to swell.
- Trouble Swallowing
While having some trouble swallowing every now and then is nothing serious, if it starts happening more often, along with vomiting or weight loss, it is a sign to contact a doctor immediately.
- Random Weight Loss
While random weight loss is often caused by stress or thyroid, it can also indicate pancreatic cancer.
While too much alcohol, stress and food can cause heartburn, if you experience it almost on daily basis, then it is something to worry about. Try changing your diet to see if it persists.
- Mouth Changes
Mouth changes such as white or bright-red patches inside the mouth and on the lips can be a sign of oral cancer. Ask your doctor for immediate treatment and a checkup.
If you experience an unexplainable fever and if for some reason it won’t go away, it can be a sign of some type of blood cancer. Check your medical history and perform a physical exam to check for the cause.
Feeling exhausted for no reason, even after waking up after a good night’s sleep, can be a sign of something being wrong in the body. Also if these symptoms are accompanied by blood in your stool, then it is something to immediately contact a doctor about.
- Change in Urination
If you are experiencing frequent urination in small amounts, or slow urine flow, this can either be caused by urinary tract infections or enlarged prostate glands.
- Unexplained Pain
While pain can be a result of many health conditions, ongoing unexplainable pain can be a clear indicator of a bone, brain or other cancer.
Coughing is probably the most common and diverse symptom of all. While there are many reasons people cough, most coughs usually go away after a week or two unless they are chronic. However, if you find yourself in pain or short of breath during coughing, this can be an indicator of something far more dangerous and serious.
